The Doctor....
Tomorrow I have my last finals for the semester, and then I'm DONE WITH SCHOOL FOR THE SEMESTER!!!!!!! WOOT WOOT!!!!!!!!!!
Any of you on Pinterest? I'll put my Pinterest page in the side bar over there and you guys can check it out. I share it with one of my best friends, Linds, and we have the best boards out there. Just sayin'.
I have currently been listening to my Michael Buble Pandora radio station. LOVE HIM. I won't vouch for him on a personal level, as I have found he sometimes uses "fun words". :/ But his SINGING voice is AMAZING. If you don't believe me, just listen for yourself below....

Now, for the REAL point of this post. I shall AGAIN change your life. For the second time this week. I would like to introduce you to....
As if you haven't already discovered the amazingness.....what??? You haven't???? Well, let me attempt to explain the awesomeness that cannot be explained, and to do it in 1 paragraph, none the less.....
Doctor Who is a time traveler who travels from galaxies to galaxies and planet to planet and parallel universe to parallel universe, saving races from complete genocide again and again, saving people, and civilizations. He does this with his companion, and with his Sonic screwdriver and his Tardis.
This doesn't even begin to describe the amazing, clever, wonderful, and hilarious Doctor. You just have to watch it for yourself!

Merry Christmas!!!
Today is Christmas, and I have been so blessed this year!! I have a WONDERFUL family, AMAZING friends, and a wonderful life!!
Last night we went to church, and as we were singing Christmas carols, it really started to feel like Christmas. The moment every year that is my favorite part of the service, however, us at the end, when everyone sings"Silent Night", and everyone has a lighted candle. Then, at the end of the song, everyone raises their candles up in the air, and the room just glows and glitters with so many flames.
We came home and exchanged family presents, and then this morning I was rudely aroused by a poking on the cheek and a whisper "IT'S CHRISTMAS. GET UP," from my 9 year old brother. Santa was very nice this year, as he always is, and there were no lumps of coal in the Stevens' household....so we were all very cold this year.....
I hope you all are having a wonderful Christmas and have a Happy New Year!!!

In Which I Enlighten You.....
I am here to change your life. For the better, I assure you. I am here to introduce to you (if you have not yet discovered these wonders for yourself), two series: The Books of Bayern and Percy Jackson. They are my two favorite series, and if you read them, they shall become yours as well.

My brother introduced me to the Percy Jackson books, (after seeing the movie, I had little faith, but trust me, THEY ARE NOTHING LIKE THE MOVIE) and the Books of Bayern were introduced to me by my dear friend, Jessie. These are AMAZING, and I will give you five reasons why.
1. They have an awesome plot.
The plots are great and not predictable. You can figure some things out, sure, but with most of the details, and the overall plot, both of these authors - Shannon Hale and Rick Riordan - keep you on your literary toes! These plots are interesting and there is never a dull moment!
2. Lots of conflict.
Like I said, never a dull moment. Both of these authors are so good at always having something going on, something to lose, something to gain, there is *literally* (no pun intended) never a boring moment! These books don't lag and drag like others, they always keep you wanting more.
3. The characters are easy to relate to.
Often times we come across characters who just simply are not human. They are either so dark, so perfect, or just so out there, that we just can't find common ground. But with Riordan's and Hale's characters, there is something to relate to in every character. They have their accomplishments and impressive attributes (namely powers we only wish we had), but they also have their everyday flaws. These characters deal with the same stuff that we do, and so they keep our attention as we try to figure out how they deal with their problems.
4. They have amazing (and very cool) powers.
These authors have thought up powers that are not so out-there that we roll our eyes at them, but not so ordinary that we get bored easily with them. They are powers that we see everyday to a lesser extent, like water, wind, fire, being super smart, being super attractive, having persuasive words, being able to make really awesome things, the list goes on and on. While I obviously have all of the above powers, it's cool to see how the characters use them, and to what ends they use them for.
5. Because I said they're awesome.
And that should be enough reason for you to be grabbing your car keys and running out the door so that you can go buy them, or at least get them from the library.
Seriously people, these books are amazing. I adore them, and if you read them, or if you have already read them, then please comment below and tell me what you think. I realize these are not "great literary works" (which I will rant on at some point), but these are amazing and vibrant books, full of fantasy, genuine characters, and amazing plots.

I shall now explain to you who I am so that you may know who the heck is addressing your person.
My name is Katie. Actually, if I had been able to write my name on my birth certificate, I would have made it to where my name was spelled "Kt". That is how I sign my artwork and cards to friends, and when I start selling my award-winning novels, that is how I shall autograph them.
Which brings me to my next point: I am a writer. I am not the "head-in-the-clouds" or a "walking-dictionary" sort of writer, I am a "story-centered" writer. I have a huge appreciation for beautiful words and words that are beautifully put together, but I ADORE a good story. If you have the best plot ever but cannot spell to save your life (like me), or if you sound like you don't know the definition of the word "grammar", I will still rate you higher than somebody who uses the most profound words which have no meaning because there is no strong plot to support them.
I am 16 and a Junior, and am going to be taking Karate next semester, so WATCH YOURSELF.
I am a Christian and do my best to show the love of Christ to others, failing miserably most of the time, but His grace never runs out! Every time I turn back to Him, He is always right there, ready with open arms.
I have a brother who is taller than me, and a brother who is shorter than me, and I am the oldest.
I have AMAZING best friends, who are all taller than me and GORGEOUS. When we have a girl's night out, it is usually to dance down grocery store isles. They are incredible and insane, and I will TAKE YOU OUT if you mess with any of them. And I know 100% they would do the same for me.
